Hello Future Alumni!

We are glad that you are interested in the new form of public service for a knowledge economy, open source teaching.

Open source teaching is about learning opportunities and life, providing all learners open access to the expert professional knowledge of the world's leading professionals, scholars, and leaders via on-demand streaming media.

We encourage you to review the following links:

Our beliefs

What we do

Who we are

We are collaborating with your university in the mobilization of your institution's most distinguished and successful alumni towards participation in this new form of public service.

If you would like to assist in carrying out our vision and collaborate with your alumni office simply perform the following:

1. Submit your resume / curriculum vitae and a 300 to 500 word essay articulating how your college experience has prepared you to serve as an exemplary student representative on behalf of your institution.

There are two critical pieces for our application review.

a) the ability for the student to clearly articulate a commitment to our vision, and

b) the ability for the student to clearly articulate a commitment to serve as an exemplary student ambassador for the university.

Send this essay to
alumni@opensourceteaching.org

Students with exemplary applications will collaborate with The Open Source Teaching Project in the capturing of onsite interviews from distinguished alumni from your institution.

You will use a simple digital audio recorder and become part of a global team of successful students, like yourself, also performing such work throughout the world.

Once you capture the interview you will post the audio at a password protected destination pending final approval by the professional interviewed.

All interviews remain the sole property of the professional interviewed.

We will transform each interview into new teaching and learning opportunities for students throughout the world, fully immersed in the tools of a knowledge economy.

The following links provide an example for your review:

Nobel Laureate, Peter C. Doherty

Edward M. Hirsch, President, Guggenheim Foundation

Robert Calderbank, Former Vice President of Research, AT & T

Irwin Kra, Executive Director, Math for America

Students will also be provided with the opportunity to be profiled within our forthcoming website for student leaders, http://www.opensourceleader.org

Students may also have an interest in contributing to our first generation college student outreach and our outreach to academic all americans.
